MP Dr Neil Hudson visited the Epping Forest Foodbank this week to meet the dedicated team of trustees, staff, and volunteers who provide vital support to those in need across the region. During the visit to the foodbank’s warehouse in Loughton, Dr. Hudson was given a
comprehensive overview of how the foodbank operates, ensuring individuals and families in challenging circumstances receive the assistance they need.

Epping Forest Foodbank, with its four hubs located throughout the area, offers food and essential supplies to those experiencing hardship. The visit provided an opportunity for the MP to witness the vital work carried out by the foodbank, from sorting donations to distributing parcels to those who rely on its services. The Foodbank has seen a huge rise in demand for it’s services over the past 5 years. In 2019 there were 1,600 people in need of support, this had risen to 9,000 in the past 12 months.

Speaking after the visit, MP Neil Hudson expressed his gratitude and admiration for the foodbank team, stating: “Humbling to meet with the team from the Epping Forest Foodbank at their warehouse in Loughton. They do so much to help folk in challenging circumstances at their four hubs across our area. Thank you, Epping Forest Foodbank, for all that you do!”

The foodbank team appreciated the opportunity to share their work and discuss the challenges they face in supporting the local community.
