Captain Tom 100

27th April 2021

From Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May a very special nationwide campaign will take place in honour of Sir Captain Tom Moore. Starting on what would have been his 101st Birthday, The Captain Tom Foundation is encouraging people to raise vital funds for charities across the UK with events and challenges focused around the number 100.

“Tomorrow will be a good day” was Captain Tom’s simple, but inspirational message. However, for many local people, this optimism is hard to picture right now as they struggle to cope with the effects the pandemic has had on themselves and their families.

At Epping Forest Food Bank we would like to ask for your help to make sure that tomorrow will, indeed, be a good day, or at least a better day for those in our community that need our help.

For our part in the Captain Tom 100 event, we aim to raise £200 – enough to provide 100 main meals to local people in crisis. Like Captain Tom, you can impact someone’s life in a very positive way.

Can you join us and help make this happen?  You can do this by:

  • Donating any amount of money you can afford directly to our online donation pot here.
  • Hold your own mini 100 challenge and collect sponsorship from friends and family.  Examples of challenges include:
    • 100 Star jumps
    • Bake 100 cakes
    • 100 keepie uppies
    • Walk/run 100 laps of your local park

Help us keep Captain Tom’s legacy alive by doing something – however small or big – but nonetheless impactful for those in need in your local community – and between us, we will make sure that “Tomorrow will be a good day”.
